
Holy Cross Geopark Mountains (Poland) – LTTA – C2
LTTA – C2 realised in Poland from 22. May to 28. May 2022.

First day
The meeting, which was attended by employees from Italy, Hungary, Poland, Turkey and Croatia, began with a grand opening held at the Geoeducation Center, which is the focal point of the Swietokrzyski Geopark. The center also has a modern museum that describes the geological past of the Holy Cross mountain range, which the participants visited below.
The workshop of traditional stone processing that followed, in addition to educational elements, also served to make original souvenirs that the participants made and brought as a souvenir.
Evening relaxation with a tour of the historic center of Kielce will also be a fond memory for all participants for a long time.





Second day
The study of the creation of various geoformations marked a visit to the Kadzielnia Nature Park and Reserve, after which the hosts allowed the bravest to ride on one of the longest Zip Lines in Poland.
A similar study of geological formations continued in the neighboring nature reserve Karczowka and the rocky reserve Slichowice, among which was a visit to the botanical garden.





Third day
In the neighboring municipality of Morawica, participants had the opportunity to visit a pottery museum that is a big part of the tradition of this area. The workshop that followed delighted many guests who returned to their youth for a moment by making clay souvenirs.
The cordial hospitality of the mayor of Morawice was organized in the newly built city administration with a cultural program of the local singing society and lunch of traditional Polish delicacies.
Afternoon walks through important local geolocations to the Stokowka quarry and the Moczydlo nature reserve followed.








Fourth day
The Paradise Cave located in the area of this geo park is one of the largest caves in Poland. Participants had the opportunity to study the formation of stalactites, for which it is extremely numerous.
The European Center for Geological Education is a complex of five buildings with laboratories, lecture halls and accommodation for students and professors who have the opportunity to conduct their geological research.
The walk from the European Center through the medieval city of Checiny to the oldest stone house in the city was very picturesque for all participants.
This was followed by a greeting from the Mayor of Checiny who also hosted a lunch made up of traditional Polish dishes with the inevitable performance of a local singing group.
An afternoon visit to the largest ethno village Tokarnia showed the original way of life in Poland during the nineteenth century.









Fifth day
The monumental completion of this project was marked by a visit to the largest symbol of the Geo Park castle above the city of Checiny.
An educational walk through the village and the Miedzianka Nature Reserve and a visit to the quarry, which is a natural monument in the village of Szewce, also pointed out the extremely important geological structure of the rock composition of this area.
The project ended with a ceremonial distribution of certificates to participants and a presentation that summed up the entire visit.
The entire organization of this mobility in Poland was performed extremely professionally and at the highest level. The hospitality of the hosts was excellent and all participants from Poljeska left full of impressions and best impressions.
